I just realized I am blabbering on about felt and most people don't even know what it is. Actually, I don't even know what it is but I was introduced to it by one Gadora Wilders. She was given a bag of the stuff and told to do with it as she pleased. I am going to get some photos of her amazing birds and post them up soon. In the mean time, I wanted to show you the tools I am working with to make my lil creations. I am not claiming to know what I am doing, but it's working. Here are the needles I use to stab the lil critters to life along with my foam block so I don't make a thousand hole marks in my table or hand.
This here is my bog'o'felt along with the lil red bag I just got at Joanne's. The lil bag was $4.00 but a lil goes a long way.
I hope this helps those who don't understand what felting is. Again, any advice or suggestions are welcome. Happy Felting.

amelia
This is amelia. She was a gift to my sister for her 29th birthday and my second attempt at felting. I will post my bird when I get a good picture. I am not sure if I am supposed to take "during" photos to show you how I made her. You let me know if you want me to do that. amelia is a zombie, with a heart. I felted a little heart on a lil felt string on her insides so you can see it in the light...picture below. One of my favorite things about amelia is her hair. She has a sassy blonde 20's doo that will knock your zombie socks off. Sadly amelia was sent to Sissy last week so she is no longer here with us and hopefully she has a great new home. On to project #3. Le Birds. I am meeting with a fellow crafter to drink beer, smoke cigs, felt, and listen to the best jukebox in Austin. Updates soon! Also, if you have some amazing works, send them in! I would LOVE to post them (with your permission) and see what other wonderful things people are making with felt.

Happy Felting Day!!
This is the first day to the blog of the only hobby I've ever had besides drinking! I am an early 30's baby felter and I LOVE it. I probably do it old school with one stab at a time but I've never been told how to do it so I don't know. Here I will display my pieces as well as Gadora Wilder's. I am blessed to share a home with this talented and beautiful woman. I would also LOVE to post your felting adventures so feel free to send them to me and I will post and promote your amazingness in this tangle of a felt we live in. :) Cheers, Jax ~Austin, TX
